Why did you choose to become an admissions counselor?
I chose to become an admissions counselor, because when I was going through the college admissions process, I didn't even know admissions counselors existed! As a first-generation student, I struggled to navigate the process on my own and I don't want any other students to feel as lost as I did. It brings me joy to not only provide students the information they need, but to also go above and beyond and advise them on housing, scholarships, and financial aid.
What do you like best about San Marcos?
I like that San Marcos is quirky! It's such a unique little college town with a fun square and mermaids all throughout the city!
How would you describe the atmosphere at Texas State?
I would describe the atmosphere as lively and electric! Our students are always buzzing and they seem eager to get involved on campus. You'll often find students going to class, squeezing in a workout, and then heading to the river to relax, all in a day's work for a Bobcat!
